Because the only trade association just for couriers really does matter and because the modern economic climate demands that our industry speaks with one, powerful voice, we are delighted to announce that the Committee that guides the Association has been substantially strengthened by the addition of 3 new members, with several other interested parties hovering in the wings. It is now nine-strong, with Neil Michaeloudis (GLH), Denise Fresco (The Courier Service) and Martin Russell (Streetwise Couriers) joining Martin Williams (Quicksilver), Ian Draude and Kevin Walsh (Clockwork Despatch), Am Pall (CitySprint), Jeremy Thompson (MACH1 Couriers) and John List (Reuter Brooks). Welcome aboard!
Sorting out the portables -
When it comes to choosing a portable computer for delivery operations there has never been a time when the choice has been so wide. This can be a boon but it can also baffle a courier who has never ventured into the market before. So the DA set to work for a member who wanted to know the ins-and-outs of this particular product line, and we provided a clear assessment of leading types according to such areas as life span, battery life, screen resolution, memory and ruggedness. We can only hope they made they right choice based on their particular needs.
DA Model Policies and Information Sheets -
Going like hotcakes they are recently. Free to DA members, they include over 15 policies including our ever-popular - and essential - Model Terms and Conditions, and cover everything you need to know in the areas of Health and Safety, Marketing and Promotion, Employment and Business Management. Subjects increasingly requested include the environment and tendering.
