Citysprint Supports Courier On Round The World Motorcycle Charity Trip -

2008 offer ...
join the DA for only £50!

‘Poor Circulation’ receives sponsorship from
CitySprint. The UK’s largest privately owned SameDay Courier business, is sponsoring one of its couriers – Geoff Thomas, aka Blue 88 – to embark on a round the world motorcycle trip in order to raise money for charity.

Geoff Thomas has been a CitySprint courier on the London circuit for the last 6 years. On the 21st April he and his companion Alan Kelly set off on a fundraising trip - they will be travelling 25,000 miles around the world, across 22 countries, on their Triumph Tiger 955i motorcycles with a budget of only £20 per day. The aim of the trip, named ‘Poor Circulation’, is to raise money for St Teresa's Hospice in Darlington and the Farleigh Hospice in Essex.

On the evening of 21st April, ‘Poor Circulation’ departed from the Ace Café in London and will travel to St Teresa's Hospice in Darlington. They will then ride through Scotland, Eskdale in the Lake District, Snowdonia in North Wales and Oxford before arriving at the Farleigh Hospice in Chelmsford on the 29th April. They will then board a ferry at Dover on Thursday 1st May. From there they will head across Europe, Russia, Asia, North America, Mexico and then back up the Eastern Coast of America before coming back to the UK, if everything goes to plan, in December 2008.

CitySprint provided ‘Poor Circulation’ with the financial support they needed for the trip. In addition Geoff and Alan have also received support in the form of products and services such as spare parts for the motorcycles from WeMotto, Triumph Online and MotoHaus and ferry crossings from P&O. Motorcycle publication The Riders Digest is also providing support and will be featuring articles on the progress of the ‘Poor Circulation’ trip over the coming months.

Geoff said: “Some may say we are mad but we both have a passion for motorcycles and have always wanted to travel the world – ‘Poor Circulation’ enables us to live out our dreams whilst raising money for two fantastic hospices. Both Alan and I are extremely grateful to CitySprint and all of our other sponsors for the support they have given enabling us to undertake this once in a lifetime trip.”

Andrew Bernard, Chief Executive of CitySprint said: “We are proud to be sponsoring Geoff on such a courageous and worthwhile trip. We wish him all the best and look forward to his return to CitySprint later in the year.”
