The Professional IT 2008 Arctic Challenge Trust Fund Total Currently: £73,410
Five days to go and there’s no turning back now as Steven and Karen Smith finish packing their bags for the start of the 2008 Arctic Challenge on Saturday 23rd February.
In his inimitable style, when asked if he was ready, Steven replied with a laugh, “I was born ready. Seriously though, we are both absolutely ready for this; thanks to the intense training regime we’ve been on, we’re both prepared for what lies ahead. Personally, I’m fitter than I’ve ever been before.”
They’ll need to be, as they face eight days trekking with dog sleds through the Arctic Circle in Northern Sweden. And if you think it’s been cold here recently…..try thinking how cold -45 degrees is!
Of course they’re not doing this just for fun...
The aim of this challenge is to raise as much money as possible for their chosen charities of the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Breast Cancer Research, illnesses that the Smith family have an all too personal history with. Already they have raised an incredible £16,706 and even though they begin their journey in just a few days, you can still help to push the total even higher.
Please make a big difference by donating below, and wish Steven and Karen the every best of luck. www.justgiving.com/arctic2008
