Announcement Regarding Phillip
Stone
Many of you will have
learned of the recent sudden, unexpected death of Phillip who was, for many
years, the backbone of the Despatch Association. After a short illness bravely
borne, his demise has left the DA sailing onwards in its representative mission
championing the interests of its members in the courier industry but without a
man at the administrative helm. For a long period of time, Phil was the public
face of our association, the voice on the ‘phone and the word-smith behind our
publications. You will understand why there has been a hiatus recently in
responding to your calls and e-mails with the standard rapid, efficient response
which was Phil’s trademark. Plans are well-advanced to get us back on course but
I would ask you to bear with us at what has been a difficult time, especially
for the Stone family and friends.
