Steve Norris becomes our new Honorary President!!
We are delighted to announce that we have a true champion of transport as the new Honorary President of the DA and RDA (Riders and Drivers Associates). Here is some background information on Steve.
“Steven Norris was the Conservative candidate for Mayor of London in 2000 and 2004. He was Conservative MP for Oxford East and then Epping Forest between 1983 and 1997. In 1992 he became Minister for Transport in London and held the post until 1996 becoming one of London's best-known political figures in the process. In 1997, Steve became Director General of the Road Haulage Association. He is currently Executive Chairman of FTSE - listed Jarvis plc, Group Chairman of AMT-Sybex Group Ltd, a director of AIM-listed ITIS Holdings plc and a director of a number of other companies. He advises blue chip clients on public policy issues with special emphasis on transport and the built environment. He is President of ITS UK, the national telematics forum, a Patron of Transport 2000, a Vice-President of the National Society for Clean Air and Environmental Protection and a former Chairman of the National Cycling Strategy Board and Motor Cycle Industry Association. He is the convenor of the transport policy element of David Cameron's Quality of Life Commission.” CLOSE background information ...
